SaveMyRent is now free to use!

Hi, I’m Justin, the founder of Deedable. And I’d like to tell you a quick story about how SaveMyRent came to be and how it’s helping renters across Australia push back on unfair rent increases.

SaveMyRent is now free!

Like many of you, I’ve been watching what’s happening in the rental market, and it’s honestly heartbreaking. Rents have gone up much faster than wages. Some areas have seen rent increases that are three to five times more than the growth in people’s pay since 2020. Today, the median rent is around $650 a week across Australia.

That’s an extra $2,600 a year compared to last year.

I kept hearing the same thing: people feel powerless. They get a rent hike notice and don’t know what to do. Is it fair? Can they say no? What happens if they push back?

So I built SaveMyRent to give renters a real shot at saying, “Hang on, that’s too much.”

Here’s How It Works:

  1. You tell us about your rent
Just enter your property details and the proposed new rent.

  2. We check the market
Our AI looks at real listings like yours (based on location, size, condition and more) and works out what a fair rent would be.

  3. We negotiate for you
If the rent is too high, we write a strong, clear email with the facts to send to your landlord or agent.

It’s all backed by real data so you’re not just guessing or hoping. You’re standing up for yourself with the truth on your side.

It’s Working

Since launching in February 2025, over 200 renters have used SaveMyRent. On average, we’ve found they’re paying $50 too much every week. That’s huge.

At first, we charged a small fee, with a money-back guarantee if you didn’t save at least $250. But now it’s totally free to use. You can chip in a small donation if you like, but you don’t have to. The goal is simply to help as many people as we can.

Getting Noticed

We were proud to be named a finalist in Australia’s AI Sprint, a national program that highlights tech making a difference with cost-of-living pressures. Google Cloud has also backed us, helping us scale our tools and reach more renters.

And we’ve built SaveMyRent to work all over Australia, from Perth to Cairns and everywhere in between. Our AI understands the rules and market in each state and territory, so advice is tailored to your location.

Why I Made This

Rent negotiations can feel scary. I get it. Landlords often have more experience and more power. That’s not fair.

I created SaveMyRent to level the playing field. You shouldn’t have to accept an unreasonable rent increase just because you’re afraid to speak up.

This tool gives renters confidence. It gives them evidence. And in some cases, it gives them a voice when they really need one.

If SaveMyRent can ease even a little bit of stress for renters during this housing crisis, then we’ve done what we set out to do.

P.S. You can try SaveMyRent for free. Even if you’re not sure, give it a go. You might be surprised by how much you could save.
